Workplace Investigation

Although workplace investigation often is considered a scary procedure, an investigation is a necessary process of any good conflict management system to ensure a healthy work environment.

Investigation is a process that upholds fairness, accountability, and often is a critical step towards repairing a relationship by understanding what and if a harm was done. It can restore trust and confidence in the employees by witnessing how their complaints are taken seriously. It can also mitigate legal risks, since it is the duty and a legal obligation of a workplace to investigate a situation which might have violated the workplace policy and/or the law.

At Parable, we understand the serious situations wherein an investigation might become necessary such allegations of harassment or discrimination. And our investigation process is a combination of the legal framework and the restorative model. We understand and normalize how unintentional actions can result in harm which must nonetheless be addressed, and through that we separate the person from the problem. We follow the mandate of an investigation and work to determine the outcome but do it in a way that works on repairing the harm that was caused.

Our work is: confidential, thorough, time-sensitive, fair and neutral.

We work hard to protect the privacy and the well-being of all parties by setting up confidential processes (and their limitations) which are explained to all parties involved. We know conflict stories are multifaceted and the parties (and witnesses) versions of the events are important for determination. We maintain neutrality to ensure the fairness of the process in order to be able to understand the situation fully and thoroughly. We work with you to conduct the investigation in a timely manner, as it helps protect both the process and the mental health of those going through an investigation.

Above all, we keep the people in mind!
